Meeting of the heads of SPOC: WB as part of EU-wide initiative
On the 18th and the 19th of October 2022, the 10th meeting of the European Heads of SPOC was held in Prague, under the Czech presidency of the Council of the European Union. The meeting, which was attended by representatives from all CSCWB beneficiaries HoSPOC’s, gathered the national contact points for the exchange of information in the field of international police cooperation. It was organized thanks to the interaction between the Italian-led project ATHENA 2 and the regional project CSCWB.
The meeting was attended by 48 representatives of SPOCs from the EU, beneficiaries of the CSCWB project, the European Institutions and Agencies, Interpol and SELEC. During the meeting, the objectives for improving the application of existing cooperation instruments and simplifying communications were presented.
The next meeting of the heads of SPOC is scheduled in June 2023 in Sweden, under the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the Union.
From 2017 to today this forum has not only gathered during these events, but also brought to unity the organization of training and updating programs for the national contact points and the police of the countries of the European Union and those adhering to Schengen as well as. Most recently, the Balkan area has been involved in the group.
